Naples

Saturday 4th May 2019

The nicer part of the Naples Port frontage

Rain & quite cold. We had booked a tour round the town in a coach to cut Avis' walking down. That worked but we saw little of the view over the bay &, as it ws pouring with rain, there was little incentive to walk around in our free hour. We did have posh coffees but standing up, so they were only €2 each. This was on the Palace Square, which does have the magnificent Church of St.Francis of Paula on one side & the Royal Palace on the other. Ken crossed the swamp & was rewarded by a wedding inside. The dome is reminiscent of the Pantheon in Rome.

Then, rather weirdly, we were taken to a pizzeria & gven to chance to make our own pizza. A couple did but the rest of us were served pizzas of the usual size, so, when we eventually got back to the ship, there ws no room for lunch. Like Menorca, there was no wi-fi in the terminal
