Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, practically a Botany Professor.
We were driven to La Orotava (which Ken had visited when in Puerto de la Cruz in 1981
(in the Annie days).
It had obviously been quite a walk up from the port then).
The last picture above is the oldest plant in the garden. We spent 70 mins there, then were taken to the Hotel Tigaiga with an exotic garden
but more to the point, coffee & cakes.
Then, back to St.Cruz & a fairly new Pinetum on the rubbish tip, which has a path
gradually winding up through it. Scheduled for an hour, that was barely enough.
It had been very well done & looked after.
