Regensberg

Tuesday 19th April 2016

We got into Regensberg at about 16:10 & it took me a quarter-hour to find a hotel, the Hotel Central, just South of the Old City. This is half the price of the Hilton (where we also had the booking.com discount) & very comfortable. We went for a walk into the Old City & saw a lot of it, going down to the Danube.

The ancient bridge is undergoing repair, so I walked up on the Bailey Bridge they have put up for pedestrians to get more photos, while Avis had a rest.

We walked back mostly a different way, stopping at the Ratskeller (old Town Hall basement, below) for a splendid dinner, half an Eisbein for me & Zander for Avis plus apfelstrudel each. This was cheaper than the Hilton breakfast!.

We found a slightly shorter & much more pleasant end to the walk back, past the Schloss Turn & Taxis, the post people.
