Tallinn - Capital of Estonia

Although Anthony had said it would be 10°C today, it seemed reasonable at first. We got up ok & took photos of Tallinn before breakfast at 0700. As instructed, we mustered on the quay at 8. We both had our coaches, which left at about 0835 for the upper city but we did not spend much time there, looking at Tall Heinrich, a tower.

Then, down on foot into the lower city, where we walked around looking at this somewhat Germanic little city, which is as beautiful as everybody says. We stopped at an old guildhall for coffee & a dance troupe, who wore ethnic clothes & were quite amusing in the dances which simulated courting or a fight. At the end, they dragged some of the guests onto the floor with them, where they got the idea quickly enough.

By the market under the wall, where there were stacks of cold weather clothes, we were left to look round. I bought an ethnic doll for Bessie, rather dear at E11.70 but so what? Eventually, I found a hole in the wall & bought more euros.

We went off to the choral concert arena & then, to St. Catherine's Nunnery, which has no roof & many ruins.

Then, back to the ship by 1204. Apart from saying a few words about the local composers, Part & Tuur, I left it all to Kulli, our guide & Andre the Bus Captain. The ship was due to depart at about 1430 & 4th Dimension did a gig on the quarter deck (right) as we went out. We both bopped around until a good crowd were at it, then Avis went to the port meeting for Warnemunde while I worked on this web site.
