| | Caribbean Cruise April 2013 - St.Lucia Rain Forest Page |
We went on the "Rainforest Adventures" gondelbahn (built by Doppelmayr), which has large, open gondolas, so it is very easy to take photos & the out (lower) & in (upper) lines are at different levels. This lasted about an hour, with great views into to jungle & some outside of the two seas either side of the island. The very pretty girl who escorted us really knew her botany & the location of the interesting plants. There were a few humming birds but they don't stay around for photographers. However, the flowers, of which there were not many, do. The temperature was pleasantly temperate.

| Vanilla plant is a parasite | So are these vines. They strangle the... | ...tree. It rots but the vines survive. |
When we got back, there was a ramble through the forest & the inevitable rum punch at the end. The road there & back was as vertiginous as yesterdays in places.

The show was on a Tropical theme & it was tropical dressing-up night. Jen had told me the show was 'rubbish' but it was not bad at all.
