Marion's original notes about her family

I am trying to find out about John Baldry, a farmer [born 1794 Easton] who married Sarah Croft. She was born in Kettleburgh, Suffolk & married at Whitton with Thurlston Suffolk on 11/10/1819. In the 1851 census, they were living with their son John at Bruisyard, Sfk. There were two sons, John & David.

John Baldry II, age 29, bachelor, draper, of Smith Square, Westminster, Middlesex was married on 21st Sept 1863 at Westminster to Lydia Broom, age 29, spinster of Smith Square, Westminster [father Henry Broom, farmer, of Rendham, Suffolk, formerly of Clopton, Suffolk]. Marriage witnesses were David Baldry and Georgiana Baldry. David had married Georgina Heath [b. 1831 in Middlesex] on 2/4/1857 at St. James, Westminster. She had previously been married to a Mr Elam, presumably deceased. [I found on the 1881 Census a David and Georgiana Baldry and 2 children living at Whippingham, Hampshire who looked as if they could be this couple]. David was also born at Brandeston, Suffolk. John Baldry II died between 1870 - 1881. I did find a John Baldry who died aged 40 in 1874 at Wandsworth on the BMD website but don't know if this is my John or not. 1881 Census - Lydia, widowed, with 3 children [Enrick, Evelyn & Egbert] at 47 Lavender Road, Battersea, Surrey. 1891 Census - Lydia & children Evelyn & Egbert at 45 Lavender Rd, Battersea. Lydia died in 1912. The family lived at 45 Lavender Road, Battersea next door to Lydia's brother and his family.

John Baldry and Lydia Broom had children as follows:-

1 - Heinrich Arthur Baldry, born 14/1/1868 at Brixton, Surrey, draper's assistant married Sept 1890 at Battersea, Surrey to Ellen Francis, born about 1865 at Merionethshire, Wales.

They had a son, Francis Ernest Baldry, born 25/3/1891 at Battersea, Surrey who married 23/8/1919 at Battersea to Ellen Margaret Boult [her father was Frederick William Boult, piano manufacturer] marriage witnesses - Ada Eliza Boult & Egbert Ethelbert Baldry. This couple had a daughter Nancy born 1927 at Wimbledon, Surrey.

Francis was blinded or had his eyesight very badly affected during WW1 and he died around 1927/8. The family lived at Raynes Park, SW20 at one time.

2 - Minnie Mabel Baldry [16/9/1869 - 1870; buried Battersea]

3 - Evelyn Baldry [born 1871 at Battersea, draper's assistant], [1891 census shows her as living with his mother at 45 Lavender Road, Battersea].

4 - Egbert Ethelbert Baldry [born Sept 1873 at Battersea, telephone clerk], [1891 census shows him as living with his mother at 45 Lavender Road, Battersea].
