The name I am interested in is DERX.
I am researching my husband's gt,gt, gt grandfather. His name was Conrad Derx and he arrived in London from Rotterdam on 7th August 1850, age 20, a sugarbaker from Hesse.
The only other Derx I have found to have arrived in this country is Balthasar Derx (age 20, a baker from Lohne in Hesse) who arrived in London from Rotterdam on 3rd April 1856.
What I would love to find out is (and I would be very grateful for any help): -
1) are there any links between Conrad and Balthasar (on their marriage certificates they give different first names for their fathers)
2) Any information about the Derx family in Hesse.

We are researching the surname REICHEL and would like to have contact from anyone who has either come across the name or has it in their tree. In particular it concerns a Heinrich REICHEL born we believe in Meinitz Germany about 1859 who came to England, at some point and married Emma Elizabeth Dines in 1886 (their only child George REICHEL was born in 1887) they lived in and around St Pancras in London - Heinrich who was listed as Harry Reichel in the 1901 census was a master wood carver and engraver by trade - he died in 1913 his son George changed the surname to Russell in 1929/1930

1) I am researching VOGT who originated from Eschbach, Hessen but settled in Grävenwiesbach, Hessen in the early 1800s. They were mainly bakers. I have information on my particular Vogt family going back to 1666 and would be happy to share that information for the indexes. I also have the females that married into the family from that period.

2) ZENSZ (ß) who originated from Unterampfrach, Schnelldorf, Bavaria. I have information going back to 1763. they were stone masons.

3) GRAVELIUS who originated from Grünberg, Hessen. I have information going back to 1670 including names marrying into the family. They were cloth makers, councillors and mayors.
