The family name I'm most interested in is Mutzke, my mother's maiden name. My great-grandfather's wife's maiden name was Seidel so I'd be interested in that as well. Place names include Dresden and more importantly, Neusattl Elbogen in Bohemia (now Nove Sedlo, Czech Republic) where my grandfather was born in 1880.

LANDSCHEIT, Norbert
He was a cavalry sergeant in the Regiment of York Hussars based in Weymouth, Dorset from August 1800 to June 1802. Prior to his Weymouth posting he was in the Guernsey Hussars. Likely birth 1760's or 1770's as he was an army pensioner by 1843. Had descendant family in Dorset. Where did he come from, please?

One problem is that we have only an Amstrad emailer which is a telephone with minute screen (and printer) which does not receive any attachments, AND we are not on the internet.

If it is of any help to seekers, since the family had wide ramifications in England and the US in the nineteenth century, I have a 1910 copy of the Bunsen and von Bunsen Stammbaum. (Olga Bunsen married Hermann Augustin, Hedwig, their daughter married Kurt Randel, as a result my mother's names were Margot Olga Wilhemina Hedwig Dorothea RANDEL.

From: Tony Gronert, e-mail him

For the "Names of Interest" I would Like to submit my G/G/G Grandfather John George GRONERT.

I don't know how much information you need but he is the first Gronert on my list. The first reference I have is from the IGI which showed his marriage on 4/11/1815 to Susannah Sophia BUTLER at Greyfriars Christ Church, Newgate London. Further research shows that he was a Licensed Victualler and had 4 children between 1821 and 1829 all baptised at Stepney, St.Mary, Whitechapel.

He died at The Licensed Victuallers' Asylum, Peckham, Camberwell on 17/6/1858 aged 72 which gives a year of birth c.1786.

I have not yet discovered where he actually was a Licensed Victualler so have not had the opportunity to consult the census returns to try and check his place of birth but from the IGI the majority of the early Gronerts were in East Prussia.
